The principle of infrared thermometer

2023-10-12

Infrared thermometer is a thermometer that uses the principle of radiation to measure human body temperature. The infrared sensor it uses only absorbs the infrared rays radiated by the human body without emitting any rays to the outside world, and senses the body temperature of the human body in a non-contact manner.

The infrared thermal radiation of the human body is focused on the detector, and the detector converts the radiation power into an electrical signal, which can be displayed in units of temperature after being compensated for the ambient temperature.

At present, infrared thermometers are mainly divided into contact infrared thermometers and non-contact infrared thermometers. Common contact thermometers include ear thermometers, forehead thermometers, and multi-function thermometers, which can get accurate body temperature from the ear in just one second. The most common non-contact thermometer is the forehead tattoo gun, which can measure the body temperature of the human body from a distance. Just point the probe at the forehead, press the measurement button, and the data can be measured in just a few seconds.
